Goal 1: Polling Applications can be useful for getting feedback from students in a variety of situations. There are many great free polling tools out there to use.
Polling applications are applications that make it quick and easy to create simple polls that allow you to gather feedback directly from the students. These usually act as a more fun way to do formative assessments in the classroom. Students will think its a like a game because they get to use a mobile device to cast votes.
Along the same idea as giving a thumbs up or down, you could create polls to gauge comprehension and confidence or how students feel about a particular topic or lesson. You could also use a polling application to create review questions to practice for an upcoming quiz or exam while gauging your students' understanding. Polls could additionally be used to incorporate a little fun and get to know you activities into the classroom. For example, finding preferred ice cream flavors. Another application of a polling app would be to give students the opportunity to create their own polls. There are so many uses!

Goal 2: PollEverywhere Poll Everywhere lets you engage your audience or class anywhere in real time, without having to use clickers. Here’s how it works. Ask your audience a question with the Poll Everywhere app. The audience answers in real time using mobile phones, Twitter, or web browsers. You see your response live on the web or in a Power-Point or Keynote presentation.There are free and paid versions of the product. The free version allows you to poll up to 40 people. This site is great for creating polls to be taken at the beginning, middle, and/or end of a lesson to see what students know or understand. It is also easy to look back and use the information gathered to improve future instruction.
